New Fishes Discovered Near The Shoal
Making shocking revelation about the Secret Service presence in the South China Sea region, the Delegate of United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland opens up in an interview given to Suporno Chaudhury, reporting from the United Nations Security Council.
Reporter: The Delegate mentioned yesterday about conducting joint naval exercises in the South China Sea, along with Australia. Can the Delegate elaborate on the regions where these exercises should be conducted.
Delegate of UK: The Delegate of United Kingdom mentioned in his speech that in case there are further instances of aggression by the People's Republic of China, United Kingdom will be forced to send over a naval fleet for conducting an exercise in region along with the Royal Australian Air Force. To make sure that China does not intimidate the smaller countries or the members of the Association of South Eeast Asian Nations in ways to influence the formation of the code of conduct.
Reporter: Sir, but where would these be conducted?
Delegate of UK: In the South China Sea region.
Reporter: Isn't the United States of America 7th fleet in the region enough to make sure of the same? And wouldn't the inclusion of the Royal Navy, further increase the Western influence and bring forth further protests from the countries in the region?
Delegate of UK: The United States 7th fleet is present in the region but they are there primarily for the vested interests of the United States in the region. The exercises that will be conducting will be completely for the benefit of the other smaller countries in the region, and the ships or aircraft will be advised never to enter disputed waters. The smaller countries, or the members of the ASEAN, have no reasons to feel intimidated. The only country which will be feeling squeamish is the People's Republic of China. This is completely in tune with the steps taken before in the region.
Reporter: Sir, can you please elaborate on the steps taken by the United Kingdom.
Delegate of UK: As you might be knowing, 30% of the trade which the United Kingdom engages in happens through the South China Sea. This makes the stability of the reason, a matter of vital importance for us. We have conducted operations by the Military Intelligence, Section 5 (MI5), along with assistance from the Secret Intelligence Service (MI6).
Reporter: Sir, are you confirming that there is MI6 presence in the South China Sea?
Delegate of UK: Only for the protection of our trade interests and to maintain stability in the region. But yes.
Reporter: That's a huge revelation but sir, according to the official website of the MI6, and the declassified documents of MI6 there have been no incident of them working for trade protection. Any comments on that?
Delegate of UK: The Delegate would retain his right to speak.
Reporter: That would be all, thank you.
